I've been looking into getting a new sander for some DIY projects and was wondering if the Black+Decker BDEMS200C would be a good choice. Has anyone used one before?

Yeah, I've used it before and it's great! It works wonders on detailed surfaces. There's even an article with more info about it at Overview of the Black+Decker BDEMS200C Sander. You should check it out.
Thanks for the link! What about the power of this sander? Is it suitable for both DIY and professional use?
I've used it professionally, and it does a great job. The 14,000 OPM no-load speed is impressive and gets the work done quickly.
True, but remember that higher OPMs can produce more heat, which might affect delicate materials. For professionals, durability and power are important too, so make sure you check out the motor type before making a decision.
The 6-foot cord should be fine for most situations, but I've heard some professionals prefer cordless sanders for better mobility.
That's right! And don't forget to consider the pad size and weight when choosing a sander. For me, the 5.25-inch pad and lightweight design make it easy to maneuver and control.
Thanks everyone for your input. I'll definitely keep these factors in mind while making my decision. The more I learn about this sander, the more it seems like it could be a great choice!
