I'm thinking about getting a Black+Decker BDCMS20C sander for some projects I have coming up. Does anyone have experience with it or can recommend something better? I need it primarily for some woodworking.

It's a decent sander for its purpose! I've used it on a few occasions, and it works well for detailed work. You might want to check out this TechReviewer article Overview of the Black+Decker BDCMS20C Sander that gives an overview of the BDCMS20C.

Thanks, @coreyk67. That's helpful! It seems like it has a good no-load speed, which is important for me since I'll be working with wood. But what about its motor? Is it brushless or brushed?

The BDCMS20C uses a brushed motor. Personally, I prefer brushless motors because they're more efficient and last longer.

Good to know. How does the battery life hold up on this sander? I'm worried about having to stop my work to recharge in the middle of a project.

The 1.5 Ah battery should give you enough power for most projects. However, if you're working on something extensive, you might want to consider getting an extension cord or another battery.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it's cordless, which gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to where you can use it. I've found that to be really convenient for tricky angles and tight spaces.

That's true! It would definitely come in handy for some of the more challenging projects I have planned. Thanks for the input, everyone. I think I'll go ahead and get the BDCMS20C.

Great choice! And if you want to learn more about it, there's an article on TechReviewer Overview of the Black+Decker BDCMS20C Sander that goes into detail about its specs and performance.
