I'm looking into getting a new corded drill for my home projects. Has anyone used the Black+Decker BEHD201? Any thoughts on its performance?

You might want to check out this article on the Black+Decker BEHD201 drill Overview of the Black+Decker BEHD201 Drill. It gives an in-depth overview of its features and performance. I found it really helpful when I was deciding whether or not to buy one.

I've used it before, and it works well for most DIY tasks. It's not the most powerful drill out there, but it gets the job done.

The 6.5-amp motor is decent for moderate use, but if you're doing heavy-duty tasks like drilling through concrete, it might struggle a bit. That being said, it's still pretty versatile and good for general home projects.

Solution

Thanks, @makaveliLA! That's exactly the kind of information I need. The article seems to mention that it has a 1/2-inch chuck size. Is that right? What does that mean for the types of bits and attachments I can use?

Yeah, the 1/2-inch chuck is suitable for larger drill bits and some power-driving attachments. It's a standard size, so you should have no problem finding bits and accessories compatible with this drill.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it's a corded drill, which means it's less portable than a cordless drill, but the constant power supply can be an advantage for heavy-duty tasks.

That's true. I've used mine mostly for woodworking and general DIY projects around the house. The power and consistency of a corded drill are definitely beneficial in those situations.

Good points all around! I'll probably pick one up and give it a try.

No problem, @popsbigloads! I'm sure you'll be happy with it for your home projects.
