Hey everyone, has anyone tried out the Black+Decker CS1216 chainsaw? I'm interested in getting one but want to know if it's any good.

Yeah, I've been using it for a while now and it works great! The article Overview of the Black+Decker CS1216 Chainsaw provides an overview of its features. It has a 16-inch bar length and weighs around 12.787 lbs., which is pretty lightweight for a chainsaw with such power.

Thanks for the link, @calixreddit. I was curious about the chain gauge. Does anyone know what it is?

Sure thing, @royalsouvenir! The Black+Decker CS1216 has a chain gauge of .050 inches. It's quite suitable for lighter tasks but may struggle with heavy-duty applications.

Thanks, @calixreddit. I also noticed that it doesn't have a chain brake. Is that a problem?

The lack of a chain brake might be an issue if you're working in a professional setting or with larger trees, but for casual use and smaller tasks, it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Good to know, @HarvestSweet. Another thing I'm wondering about is the chain pitch. Is it suitable for fine cutting tasks?

Yes, @royalsouvenir, the 3/8-inch chain pitch should work well for fine cutting tasks. It's not too large that it would be unsuitable for delicate work.

Thanks all! I appreciate your input. The Black+Decker CS1216 seems like a solid choice for my needs.
