Black+Decker DR260C vs. More Powerful Drills?

Started by AspenSwift on June 24, 2024

I'm looking into getting a new corded drill and was wondering if anyone has used the Black+Decker DR260C before? It seems to have good reviews online.

I've had one for a couple of months now and it's been working great! The power is more than enough for most household tasks. There's a TechReviewer article that goes into detail about its features and performance Overview of the Black+Decker DR260C Drill.

That's helpful, thanks! The 5.5-amp motor seems decent for my needs, but I'm curious to know if anyone has experience with heavier-duty drills and if they're worth the investment.

I've used both the DR260C and some heavier-duty models in professional settings, and I can say that the DR260C holds its own pretty well. The power is there when you need it, but for really heavy tasks like drilling through concrete or masonry, a more powerful drill might be necessary.

Yeah, I agree with @SavageShinobi. For most DIY projects around the house, the DR260C is more than capable. But if you're regularly working on heavier-duty stuff, investing in a more powerful drill might make sense.

I have to say, I'm really impressed with the constant power supply of the DR260C. It never loses power even when drilling into tougher materials, and that's been a game-changer for me.

That's great to hear! I think I'll go ahead and give it a try. Thanks everyone for your input!
