I'm thinking about getting a Bosch GET65-5N sander for my next project. Has anyone used one before? I'm particularly curious if it has variable speed control.
Bosch GET65-5N Variable Speed Control?

Hi @UwberEpic, I've been using the Bosch GET65-5N for a few months now and I really like it. It doesn't have variable speed control, but you can manually adjust the speed by changing the sanding pad. The power rating is 6.5 amps, which should be more than enough for most tasks.
Hey @UwberEpic, I recently bought a Bosch GET65-5N and I'm quite pleased with it so far! There's an excellent TechReviewer article Overview of the Bosch GET65-5N Sander that provides a comprehensive analysis of the sander's features. You can check it out if you want to learn more about it.
Thanks, @Seedsofbroccoli. That sounds helpful. I'm also interested in knowing how durable the pad is and whether it can handle various types of sandpaper.
The pad on the Bosch GET65-5N is quite sturdy and can accommodate a variety of sandpaper grits. I've used it with both coarse and fine grits without any issues. It's also easy to change the pads, which is a plus.
That's great to hear, @lousiana. The durability of the pad is an important factor for me since I plan to use this sander for quite a few projects. By the way, does anyone have any tips on how to sand efficiently and effectively with this tool?
Hey @UwberEpic, I've found that using the Bosch GET65-5N at a slower speed works best for me when dealing with denser materials. It allows me to have better control and extends the pad's lifespan. I'd also recommend using dust collection whenever possible to keep your workspace clean.
Thanks, @ChaveyJones. That's really useful advice. I'll definitely give those tips a try.
Awesome, thanks everyone for the input! I think I'm leaning towards getting the Bosch GET65-5N now. The more I learn about it, the more it seems like a great fit for my needs.
