I'm thinking about getting the Bosch GEX18V-5B15 for some woodworking projects. Has anyone used it before? Any feedback or suggestions would be great.

It should be fine for finer tasks, but you might need to adjust the sanding speed and orbit diameter. I'd recommend checking out this article for more details on its performance: Overview of the Bosch GEX18V-5B15 Sander

It's a solid sander, I've been using it for a couple of months now and haven't had any major issues. The 4Ah battery definitely helps with extended work sessions.

Yeah, I've used the Bosch GEX18V-5B15 as well. It's pretty powerful and works great on larger surfaces. I particularly like the dust collection feature - keeps my workspace clean!

I'm planning to get one soon! Is it suitable for finer finishing tasks? I'm worried about damaging my workpiece.

Solution

That's a great point! I've used mine mostly for larger projects so far, but I did some fine finishing work recently. It worked well, but it was a bit noisy and warm at higher speeds.

Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'll go ahead with my plan to get one. Maybe I'll pick up an extra battery too since the 4Ah can run out quickly depending on the project.

That's a good idea, especially if you're going to be using it for long periods at a time. Safe woodworking!

Have fun with your new sander! And remember to take breaks and stay hydrated when working on big projects.

Thanks all for the advice! I'll definitely keep that in mind. See you on the next project, guys!
