Hey, @glitchpaste, have you checked out this TechReviewer article about the Bosch GSS12V-40N? It provides an in-depth analysis of its features. You can find it here Overview of the Bosch GSS12V-40N Sander.

Yeah, it's a great little sander! I've used mine for various woodworking projects and it's really easy to control due to its compact size.

Solution

Thanks for sharing that @andrewmcdonough. I've been looking for a sander with a high no-load speed and I noticed the Bosch GSS12V-40N has a range of 6,000 to 10,000 OPM. How useful do you think that is?

I find it quite helpful when working on soft materials like wood. It makes for faster and smoother sanding. But for denser materials, I feel slower speeds provide better control.

I've been using the Bosch GSS12V-40N for a while now and I must say that the brushless motor is really efficient. No issues with heat build-up or motor life so far.

That's good to know @Detour7miles. Another thing I'm curious about is whether it's better to go for a corded or cordless sander. The Bosch GSS12V-40N is corded, right?

Yes, that's correct. While corded tools generally provide consistent power and unlimited run-time, they can be inconvenient if you need to move around a lot.

Another thing worth mentioning about the Bosch GSS12V-40N is its dust collection feature. It helps keep your workspace clean, which is always a plus when working with sanders.

Great points everyone! I think I'll give it a try. Thanks for all the useful information!
