I'm considering getting a Bosch OS50VC sander for my workshop. Has anyone used this before? What are your experiences with it?

I've been using the Bosch OS50VC for about six months now and I really like it! It's perfect for smaller projects around the house. The only downside is that it can get a bit hot after extended use, but that's a small issue compared to how well it works.
Yeah, I've used one too. I found it quite powerful, especially with the 2.4mm orbit diameter. It was perfect for smoothing out rough wood surfaces before staining. The only thing is that it can be a bit noisy when you first start it up. Other than that, no complaints!
I recently wrote an article about the Bosch OS50VC on TechReviewer and wanted to share some insights. You can find more information in my article Overview of the Bosch OS50VC Sander. It covers all the specs and details about this sander, including its power rating, motor type, orbit diameter, and more.
Thanks for sharing that link, @busterj99! I found your article really helpful. The 3.4 amp rating seems like a good balance between power and control. I'm curious though, how does the brushless motor compare to the brushed one?
Well, from what I've read in various articles (including Overview of the Bosch OS50VC Sander), brushless motors are generally more efficient and durable than brushed ones. They also adapt their power output based on the material being sanded.
That's interesting! I haven't used a brushless motor before. I guess it would be worth considering if I decide to get another sander in the future.
Absolutely, @effervescentadolesce. Brushless motors are definitely more advanced and come with their own set of benefits. But they also tend to be more expensive than brushed ones.
Thanks for all your input! Based on what you've said, I think the Bosch OS50VC could be a good choice for my workshop. I just need to decide whether to go with the brushless or brushed version. I'm leaning towards the brushless one since it seems more efficient and durable.
That sounds like a great decision! Just make sure you have a power outlet nearby so you don't have to worry about cord length. Good luck with your new sander!
Yeah, good luck @BulldogCSGO! And if you ever need any advice or recommendations, we're always here to help.
