I'm looking for a circular saw that can handle multiple tasks. Has anyone used the Craftsman CMCS551B? Any thoughts?

I've used it on various materials like wood and even metal, and the Craftsman CMCS551B holds up well. Plus, there's an article discussing its features and capabilities at Overview of the Craftsman CMCS551B Circular Saw. You might find it helpful for a deeper understanding.

Yeah, I've been using it for a while now and it's pretty versatile. It has a 7-1/4 inch blade and operates at 5,000 RPM. That's quite impressive.

The 20 volts brushless motor is also a big plus for me. Less heat build-up and more efficiency. Have you noticed any difference in battery life compared to brushed motors?

Solution

That's good to hear! The max voltage of 20 volts seems promising for cutting through dense materials. Do you find the no-load speed enough for your needs?

It's been working fine so far, but I can't speak for everyone else's experience. Different tasks might require different speeds.

True, a higher RPM could be beneficial in certain situations, especially when working with softer materials like wood. But it's also important to consider the noise and heat levels.

Good point. Thanks for the input, guys! I'll take all this into account and make my decision.

You're welcome! Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with your search!
