I've been looking at getting a DeWalt DCD793, but I can't find any information on its max torque. Does anyone know or have experience with this drill?
DeWalt DCD793 Max Torque?
Started by kwroblewski on July 03, 2024
Hey @kwroblewski, it's a great drill! The max torque isn't specifically mentioned in the article, but it does have a 20-volt brushless motor, 1/2 inch chuck size, 0-450/1650 RPM motor speed, and 15 clutch settings.
Thanks for the info @alexisdevaul. I saw an article about this drill on TechReviewer Overview of the DeWalt DCD793 Drill that also didn't mention the max torque. It would be nice to know what it is for sure though.
Yeah, I have the DCD793 and I can tell you it's a beast when it comes to drilling and driving in screws. You won't be disappointed!
That sounds awesome @apieceofbrownie. Do you think the max torque would be enough for some heavy-duty work? Like drilling into concrete?
I don't know about that @kwroblewski. The DCD793 is great for most DIY tasks and general construction, but it might not be up to the task of drilling into concrete. That's usually a job for heavy-duty industrial drills.
Yeah, I'd agree with @DamionYoung. It's a powerful drill, but if you're planning on doing some serious heavy lifting, you might want to consider something more beefy.
Thanks everyone for the input. I'll have to think about what I'm going to use it for most and see if this is the right choice for me.
That makes sense @kwroblewski. The TechReviewer article Overview of the DeWalt DCD793 Drill gives a pretty good overview of the drill, so you might want to check that out again for more info.
