DeWalt DCD798B Drill Charger?

Started by stevenrich on June 20, 2024

I've been looking for a cordless drill and came across the DeWalt DCD798B. Does anyone have experience with it or know if the charger is included? I'm curious about its performance.

Hey @stevenrich, the DeWalt DCD798B is a pretty solid choice! It has a powerful brushless motor and can handle various tasks with ease. As for the charger, it does not come with the drill. You'll need to purchase it separately. I found this article Overview of the DeWalt DCD798B Drill that provides an in-depth look at the drill's features, which might be helpful.

Thanks @Nullcrass! The article you linked seems really informative. Now that I know the charger isn't included, I'll have to plan for that additional expense. But overall, it sounds like a good option for my needs.

@stevenrich,@Nullcrass - I've been using the DCD798B for a few months now and I'm quite happy with its performance. The 20V brushless motor really provides some power, and the 1/2-inch chuck is great for heavier-duty tasks. As for the charger, it's not included, but that wasn't an issue for me since I already had a compatible DeWalt battery.

@DonCoscarelli1,@stevenrich - I'm considering getting the DCD798B myself. Can you tell us more about its weight and how comfortable it is to use? I'm worried about using it for extended periods.

@bcsilver, sure! The DeWalt DCD798B weighs 2.49 lbs., which I find pretty reasonable for a cordless drill of this power level. It's not the lightest out there, but it's not too heavy either. I've been able to use it comfortably for hours at a time without issue.

Thanks for the input, @DonCoscarelli1! That weight is in line with my expectations. The more I read about this drill, the more I'm leaning towards getting one.
