Hey there! The DeWalt DCD798B has a 20V brushless motor which is pretty powerful for most tasks. However, you should keep in mind that the battery life might be an issue for larger projects. I found a great TechReviewer article Overview of the DeWalt DCD798B Drill discussing the drill in more detail.

I've been using the DeWalt DCD798B for a few months now and I must say, it's a great choice for beginners in woodworking. It has plenty of power and is really easy to use.

Yeah, I'm also considering this drill. Can anyone comment on its battery life? I'm doing a large project and don't want to be stuck without power midway through.

Solution

Thanks for the info! How does the weight of this drill compare to other cordless drills on the market?

The DeWalt DCD798B weighs 2.49 lbs, which is fairly lightweight compared to some other options out there. I think it's a good balance between power and portability.

Great! But what about its clutch settings? How many do they offer and how useful are they for woodworking tasks?

The DeWalt DCD798B has 15 clutch settings, which should cover most of your woodworking needs. I've found them to be really helpful in maintaining control over my drill while working on different materials.

That's awesome! What about the motor speed options? How fast can this baby go?

The DeWalt DCD798B has a 0-450/1,650 RPM range for its motor speed. It's pretty versatile and should be able to handle most of your woodworking tasks with ease.

I'm glad you found the information helpful! I've been really happy with my DeWalt DCD798B so far and think it's a great option for beginners in woodworking.

Thanks everyone for your insights. Based on this discussion, I think I might go ahead and buy the DeWalt DCD798B.
