I've been looking at this Dewalt DCS373P2 circular saw and wondering if anyone has had experience with the battery life? It's a bit pricey, but I'm curious if it's worth the investment.
Dewalt DCS373P2 Battery Life?
Started by Darcksage on June 23, 2024
Hi @Darcksage, I have one. The battery life is actually quite good! I've been using mine for both light-duty tasks around the house and some professional work, and the 5 Ah battery has lasted me a good amount of time on each task without needing to swap it out.
That's great to hear, @Klonebros! I'm looking at doing a lot of cutting with this saw, so battery life is really important. Have you had any issues with the battery holding its charge over time?
Hey @EndlesslyQuestioning, I haven't experienced any significant issues with the battery life or charging on my DCS373P2. The saw has been working great for me! There's a good article with an overview of it at Overview of the Dewalt DCS373P2 Circular Saw.
That's really helpful, thanks guys. So it seems like the battery is reliable for around 5 Ah capacity. What about the max voltage? I'm curious if that provides enough power for some heavier tasks.
The max voltage of this saw is 20 volts, which should be more than adequate for most cutting tasks. I've found it to handle a variety of materials without any issues. Just make sure you use the correct blade for the material you're cutting.
Thanks for the info @Klonebros. Another question I had was about the no-load speed - is that 3,700 RPM sufficient for quick and efficient cuts?
Yes, a no-load speed of 3,700 RPM should be more than enough for fast and accurate cuts in most cases. It's worth noting that while high RPMs can deliver cleaner, more efficient cuts, they also produce more heat and noise.
That's really useful advice, @blondeinboise. So overall, I'm feeling more confident about the DCS373P2 for my needs. Thanks everyone!
You're welcome, @Darcksage! Good luck with your decision. If you have any more questions or need some help later on, just let us know.
