I've been looking into buying a new circular saw and came across the Dewalt DCS565P1. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm especially curious about its battery life.
Dewalt DCS565P1 Battery Life?

The battery life on that one is alright, but it does depend on how much you're using it. For light to moderate use, I think the 5 Ah battery will be fine. But if you're doing some serious work, you might need to charge it more frequently.
Yeah, I've used it a bit and found that for my usual DIY tasks around the house, the battery lasts me about an hour or so on a single charge. That's with moderate use, though.
Just wanted to share this article I found on TechReviewer about the Dewalt DCS565P1 Overview of the Dewalt DCS565P1 Circular Saw. It goes into more detail about its performance and specs. Might be helpful for anyone considering it!
Thanks, @sumoliang, that's a great resource! So does anyone have any thoughts on how the battery life compares to other cordless circular saws out there?
I've used a few different ones, and while this one has a decent battery life for my needs, I do think some of the higher amp-hour batteries on other models might offer slightly longer run times. But then again, they can also be a bit heavier.
True. For me, it's not too much of an issue since I don't use my saw for extended periods at a time. But if you're working on a big project that requires continuous cutting, then battery life might become more critical.
That's a good point @two-feathers. It really depends on the individual user and their specific needs. The TechReviewer article Overview of the Dewalt DCS565P1 Circular Saw does a great job of breaking down the pros and cons of the DCS565P1, so I recommend checking it out if you're still unsure.
Thanks for all the input, guys! I think I'll go read that TechReviewer article now. If anyone else has any additional thoughts or experiences to share, feel free to chime in!
No problem, @wezley71. Good luck with your decision! And if you have any questions later on, don't hesitate to ask.
