Thanks for the recommendation! I noticed that it has a brushless motor - what does that mean exactly? And how does it compare to the older models?

The Skil CR5429B-20 comes with a brushless motor, which offers better performance and longer motor life compared to the older brushed motors. It also features a higher no-load speed of 5,300 RPM for faster and smoother cuts.

That sounds impressive! How does the cordless aspect affect its performance? Are there any drawbacks?

The Skil CR5429B-20 is cordless, which means you won't need to worry about power cords. It comes with a 5 Ah battery that provides decent runtime. The only drawback might be that if the battery runs out during your work, you'll have to stop and replace it.

Gotcha, thanks for the info! What's the maximum voltage of this saw?

The Skil CR5429B-20 operates at a maximum voltage of 40 volts. This provides more power and efficiency compared to lower-voltage models.

Just remember that with higher voltage comes more heat and noise, so keep that in mind when using it for longer periods.
