I'm looking to buy a new sander and came across the Makita XOB01Z. What do you think? Has anyone used it before?

Yeah, I've used it! It's really great for DIY projects. I found an article on TechReviewer that gives an overview of its features Overview of the Makita XOB01Z Sander. The orbit diameter is 3.175mm which makes it perfect for a variety of applications.

Thanks for the link, @KaffeeNoire! That's pretty useful. What about the power? Is it strong enough for my needs?

The Makita XOB01Z is powered by an 18-volt brushed motor, which provides decent power for DIY tasks. If you need more power for heavier duty work, you might want to consider a higher voltage sander.

Good to know! How's the battery life on this one? I don't like having to stop and charge in the middle of a project.

The Makita XOB01Z is cordless, so it comes with the added convenience of not being tethered to an outlet. However, you'll need to purchase a separate battery for it. Battery life will depend on the amp-hour rating of the battery you get. Higher Ah batteries offer longer runtimes.

I've used the Makita XOB01Z for small projects around the house and found it works well. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver, which is a big plus in my book!

Thanks everyone for your input! Based on what you've shared, I think the Makita XOB01Z could be a good choice for me. I'll go ahead and purchase it.

That's great to hear! If you have any questions or issues with the sander in the future, feel free to reach out to us here on the forum. Good luck with your new tool!
