I'm looking to buy a sander for some DIY projects around the house. Has anyone used the Black+Decker BDERO200AEV sander? It seems pretty good.

Yes! I've been using it for a few months now and it's working great for me. The 5-inch pad is really effective for covering large surface areas quickly. Check out this TechReviewer article Overview of the Black+Decker BDERO200AEV Sander for an overview of the BDERO200AEV sander.

That's helpful, thanks! I'm particularly interested in the power rating and sanding quality. Have you noticed any issues with swirl marks or uneven surfaces?

No, actually. I haven't encountered any swirl marks or uneven surfaces while using it. The random orbital action really does a great job at minimizing those issues. Plus, the ergonomic grip makes it easy to maneuver.

That's good to know! What about the motor and speed? Is it powerful enough for my DIY projects?

It has a 2.4 amp power rating, which should be more than sufficient for most DIY tasks. The no-load speed is 12,000 OPM, so it's quite fast. However, keep in mind that higher OPMs can produce more heat and noise.

I see. What about the weight and corded nature of the sander? Will it be too heavy for prolonged use?

The BDERO200AEV weighs 3 lbs, which is quite light for a sander. It shouldn't cause much fatigue during extended use. And being corded means you won't have to worry about battery life or having a power outlet nearby.

That's perfect! Thanks everyone for the input. I think I'll go ahead and get the BDERO200AEV sander for my DIY projects.
