Hey all, has anyone used the Black+Decker LCS1020B chainsaw? I've been looking at it for some light woodcutting tasks.

You might find this article useful to understand the performance of the LCS1020B better Overview of the Black+Decker LCS1020B Chainsaw. It goes into detail about its power, usability features, and more. Also, note that the tool-free chain tensioning feature makes maintenance easier compared to other models.

I've had one for a couple of months now. It works great on smaller branches and firewood. The battery life is pretty good too.

I used the LCS1020B last summer for trimming trees in my backyard, and it worked well for that purpose. It's not as powerful as some gas-powered models, but it's still quite effective for lighter tasks.

I tried using one on a thicker oak tree trunk and had some difficulty getting through it. The saw struggled a bit.

Solution

Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone! I'm leaning towards getting one now. Is anyone using a battery they'd recommend?

I've been using the 20V MAX Lithium Ion Battery from Black+Decker with mine, and it works great. It's not included with the chainsaw, so you'll have to buy it separately.

Yeah, that battery is definitely a good choice. You won't be disappointed!

I'm still quite happy with my purchase of the LCS1020B, but for heavier tasks, I might consider upgrading to a more powerful model in the future.

Thanks again! I'll check out the battery and see if it suits my needs. The versatility of this chainsaw for various tasks is really appealing.
