I've been looking into getting a good sander for my woodworking projects. Has anyone tried the Makita BO5031K? What do you think of it?

Thanks for sharing your experience, @MesmerizingHS. I came across this TechReviewer article about the Makita BO5031K Overview of the Makita BO5031K Sander that goes into more detail on its features and performance. It seems to be a popular choice among woodworkers.

Yeah, I've used one before and it's pretty decent. It has a variable speed, which is great for different types of materials. The orbit diameter is 3.175 mm, which provides a good balance between aggressiveness and precision.

That's interesting, @poselocke. After reading the article, it seems like the variable speed and random orbital action would be really useful for my projects. I'm just wondering if anyone has any personal anecdotes or experiences with this sander?

I found that the Makita BO5031K works great on softer materials like wood, but it might not be the best choice for more heavy-duty tasks. For those, you might want to consider a different model.

I've been using the Makita BO5031K for a while now and I absolutely love it! It's light enough for me to use comfortably for long periods, and the variable speed really comes in handy when I'm working with different types of wood. The dust collection feature is also a huge plus.

That's great to hear, @modulos04. I was also curious about whether it's corded or cordless. It seems like corded tools are usually more powerful and consistent, but can be limited by the length of the cord. Has anyone else had experience with this sander in that regard?

Thanks for all the input, everyone. Based on what you've said, I think the Makita BO5031K could definitely work for my needs. I'll probably pick one up and give it a try!
