I'm looking at purchasing a new sander and I've been considering the Makita BO6030. Can you guys share some thoughts on it?

Hey @eggcellente, I've had one for a while and it's great! It's powerful and the random orbital action gives a smooth finish. The dust collection is pretty good too. You can find more information in this TechReviewer article Overview of the Makita BO6030 Sander.

Solution

I recently bought one as well, and I'm really happy with its performance. The 6-inch pad size is perfect for most of my projects.

I've had the Makita BO6030 for a few months now, and it's served me well on various sanding tasks. One thing that stood out to me was its power - even though it's corded, the 2.7-amp motor is enough for most jobs. The dust collection system works fine too.

Thanks for the input everyone! I'm leaning towards getting one now. The reviews are definitely positive. What do you think about the no-load speed and orbit diameter?

Yeah, the 4,000 to 10,000 OPM range is pretty good for a sander like this. It's fast enough for most tasks but doesn't produce too much heat or noise. As for the orbit diameter, it's 3.175 mm which should provide a decent balance between speed and finish quality.

The no-load speed and orbit diameter are definitely on par with other sanders in this category. If you're looking for something that combines power and versatility, the Makita BO6030 won't disappoint.

Great! I'll probably go ahead and order one. Thanks again for all your input!

No problem @eggcellente, happy sanding!
