Makita XCU04Z for Stump Removal?

Started by makeherblush on July 03, 2024

I've been looking at getting a new chainsaw and came across the Makita XCU04Z. I'm wondering if it's suitable for stump removal? Has anyone had any experience with this model?

@@makeherblush Good question! According to the Overview of the Makita XCU04Z Chainsaw, the Makita XCU04Z has a chain speed of 65.67 FPS and a maximum voltage of 18 to 36 volts. I'm not an expert, but it seems like that should be enough for stump removal.

I don't have personal experience with that specific model, but I used a similar Makita chainsaw for some light tree work and was quite pleased with its performance. The Overview of the Makita XCU04Z Chainsaw has more details on the XCU04Z if you're interested.

I'll definitely check it out. @@two-feathers I'm considering the Makita XCU04Z for stump removal as well, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how effective it would be? The 16-inch bar length seems like it could handle most stumps, but I'm not sure about the power.

That's a good point. The chainsaw does have a brushless motor, which should provide decent power for stump removal. Have you guys checked out the chain speed and voltage? I think that might give us a better idea of its capabilities.
