I've recently bought a Makita XSH08Z Circular Saw and I'm really interested in learning more about its usage. Does anyone have any experience or tips they'd like to share?

I've used this saw for both wood and lumber, as mentioned in the TechReviewer article Overview of the Makita XSH08Z Circular Saw. The no-load RPM of 6,000 is impressive for fast cuts, but be careful with harder materials – slower speeds often provide better control and extend the blade's lifespan.

Hi @MoonMousseOfficial, I've used the Makita XSH08Z for some woodworking projects around my house, and it's been great! The brushless motor provides a lot of power and the cordless feature gives me so much freedom in movement.

That's awesome, @graemej1. I'm also interested in its cutting capabilities. Does it perform well on various materials?

Solution

Thanks for the input, @stellamilanese! I'm also curious about the battery capacity. How does it affect the performance of the saw?

The Makita XSH08Z comes with a brushless motor, which provides better efficiency and longer motor life compared to brushed motors. However, you'll need to purchase the battery separately.

Good point @Starshin3. I would recommend getting a high amp-hour battery for heavy-duty tasks or professional use. For lighter tasks, a lower amp-hour battery might be more suitable.

Thanks everyone for the insights. I'm really looking forward to using my Makita XSH08Z!
