I'm considering buying a new circular saw and was wondering if the Makita XSH10Z would be a good choice for cutting hardwoods? Has anyone had experience with this saw or have any recommendations?
Makita XSH10Z for Hardwood Cutting?
Started by Sweaterlegs on June 21, 2024
I've used the Makita XSH10Z before and it worked great! It has a powerful 18V brushless motor, which makes it suitable for cutting various materials including hardwood. The 9-1/4 inch blade also provides a good cutting depth.
Yeah, I've been using the Makita XSH10Z for a few months now and it's amazing for hardwood cutting. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver, which makes it perfect for my DIY projects.
One thing I would add is that the Makita XSH10Z has a 45-degree depth of 2-3/8 inches, which is pretty impressive. I found a great article discussing its features in detail Overview of the Makita XSH10Z Circular Saw. Check it out if you're interested!
That's good to know! Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. The Makita XSH10Z seems like a solid choice for hardwood cutting based on your experiences. However, I'm still unsure about the battery capacity and whether it would be enough for my needs. Any thoughts?
You're welcome, @Sweaterlegs! As for the battery capacity, I think you'll be happy with the Makita XSH10Z's performance even if it doesn't come with a high-capacity battery. The saw itself is powerful and efficient, so as long as you have a good-quality battery, you should be fine.
Thanks for your input, @tater2428. I think I'll go ahead and order the Makita XSH10Z. It seems like it will suit my needs perfectly for cutting hardwoods, especially with all the positive feedback from this forum.
Great choice, @Sweaterlegs! I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your decision. Good luck with your new saw!
