Makita XSS01T Cutting Capacity?

Started by BlueOrigin95 on June 30, 2024

I've been looking at getting a new circular saw and came across the Makita XSS01T. Has anyone used it before? I'm particularly interested in its cutting capacity.

Yeah, I've had one for a few months now and it's been great! It has a 6-1/2 inch blade size and a no-load speed of 3,700 RPM, which works well for me. There's also an article about it at Overview of the Makita XSS01T Circular Saw.

That's interesting. I'm more concerned with the max voltage and cutting depths though. What are they?

The max voltage is 18 volts and the 90-degree depth is 2-1/4 inches, but for 45 degrees, it's 1-9/16 inches.

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I'm really interested in a cordless saw. Does anyone have experience with the battery life of this one?

Thanks for all the info everyone. So the battery life is important to me too, especially if I'll be using it on larger projects.

The battery capacity is 5 Ah, which should provide decent runtime for most tasks.

What about the weight and portability? I need something that's easy to carry around.

It weighs 7.6 lbs, so it might not be the lightest out there, but it still has a compact design.

Thanks for the input! I think this saw is looking more and more appealing.

One last question before I make my decision - does anyone have any personal experiences or anecdotes about using this saw on real-world projects?
