I'm looking at getting a new saw for some DIY projects around the house. Has anyone used the Makita XSS01Z before?

Yes, I've been using it for a few months now! It's worked great so far. The no-load speed is 3,700 RPM, which makes quick work of cutting through wood.
I've also had good experiences with the Makita XSS01Z. You can check out a detailed review in this TechReviewer article Overview of the Makita XSS01Z Circular Saw. It covers all the specs and performance aspects of the saw.
The 18 volts of power is impressive, and it's cordless too, which means you don't have to worry about cords getting in the way.
That's good to hear! I'm considering it for some woodworking projects. What's the battery life like?
I haven't had any issues with the battery so far. But you're right, battery life is something to consider when choosing a cordless tool.
I agree with @vangogeo. The battery capacity isn't included, but you can purchase it separately. You'll want to make sure you get an amp-hour rating that matches your work requirements.
Good point, @SociallyAwkwardGent. I've also found that the 6-1/2 inch blade size is pretty versatile for a variety of cuts.
Thanks for all the input! I think I'm leaning towards getting the Makita XSS01Z. Do you have any advice on how to maintain the saw's performance over time?
@hyperspeeddoggo: It's easy to maintain - just follow the manufacturer's recommendations and clean it regularly. The motor brake helps to stop the blade quickly, which is a nice safety feature.
I'd also recommend reading up on some basic safety procedures before using any power tool, including the Makita XSS01Z.
Definitely! Always wear proper safety gear and be aware of your surroundings while operating the saw.
Great advice, everyone. I'll go ahead and purchase the Makita XSS01Z for my DIY projects. Thanks for all the help!
You're welcome, @KingofSmallSpaces! Good luck with your new saw, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions in the future.
That's awesome, @KingofSmallSpaces! Enjoy your new tool and happy woodworking!
