Has anyone used a Makita XSS02Z before? I'm considering buying one for some DIY projects around the house.

That's correct, @smurfinq1. It operates at 3,700 RPM and is not brushless. You can find more information in this TechReviewer article Overview of the Makita XSS02Z Circular Saw.

Yeah, I've used it. It's quite powerful and easy to use. The 6-1/2 inch blade size is perfect for most tasks.

The 3,700 RPM motor seems impressive, but it's not brushless, right? Any thoughts on that?

Solution

Thanks for the link, @buzzorotto. So, what kind of projects do you think are best suited for this saw?

I used it mainly for cutting wood and it worked great. I think it would be good for general woodworking tasks.

Yeah, but isn't it a bit heavy at 7.3 lbs? Would that be an issue for some users?

True, the weight might be a concern for some people. However, it's not overly heavy and manageable for most situations.

I'm curious about the depth adjustments on this saw. Does it have any?

Thanks for the input, everyone. Based on your experiences, would anyone recommend this saw to others?
