I've been looking at the Craftsman CMCD700C1 drill, but can't find any information on its maximum torque. Has anyone here used it or knows what it is?
Max Torque Craftsman CMCD700C1?
Started by RedPraetorian on June 26, 2024
I just bought one last week and have been using it for some projects around the house. It's working great so far!
Yeah, I've used the CMCD700C1 drill too. The TechReviewer article Overview of the Craftsman CMCD700C1 Drill provides an overview of this drill, including its specs. According to that article, it doesn't explicitly mention the maximum torque of the drill. But, it does have a 20-volt (maximum) motor and a 1/2-inch chuck size.
Thanks for the info, @Booshie317! The 20-volt motor seems pretty powerful for most DIY tasks I'll be doing. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the max torque is?
I'm also considering this drill and was wondering if someone could provide more details on its maximum torque.
Well, as @Booshie317 mentioned, the TechReviewer article Overview of the Craftsman CMCD700C1 Drill doesn't explicitly state the max torque. But since it has a 20-volt motor, you can assume that it should have decent torque for most tasks.
That's good to know, @AstroColton. I'm just worried about whether or not it'll be able to handle some heavy-duty drilling jobs I've got coming up. Any suggestions on what else I could look at?
If you're concerned about torque for heavy-duty jobs, you might want to consider looking into corded drills with higher amperage ratings. They tend to have more sustained power and better performance in those situations.
Thanks for the advice, @captainredbeard77. I'll definitely look into that. But if anyone has any experience or insights about the CMCD700C1's torque, I'd still appreciate it.
Honestly, the 20-volt motor and 1/2-inch chuck size on the CMCD700C1 have been more than enough for my DIY projects so far. It might not be ideal for professional use or heavy-duty tasks, but for home projects, it's been great.
I agree with @AstroColton. The CMCD700C1 has been sufficient for my needs, even though I haven't done any heavy-duty drilling yet. For most people's purposes, the torque should be adequate.
Thanks everyone for your input. Based on what you've said, I think I'll go ahead and give the CMCD700C1 a try. If it doesn't meet my expectations, I can always upgrade later. Appreciate all the advice!
