I'm considering getting a new circular saw and I've been looking at the Milwaukee 2530-20. Has anyone used it before?

Yeah, I had one for a while. It's a pretty nice tool! I found this article that gives an overview of its features Overview of the Milwaukee 2530-20 Circular Saw. The no-load speed is 3,600 RPM and it has an 18V max voltage. I think those specs make it great for cutting through dense materials like hardwood.
That sounds awesome. How does the cordless aspect of it work? Is it good for extended use?
I've used it on a couple of projects and found it to be quite efficient. The weight is light enough that it's easy to maneuver, but the power is there when you need it.
I bought one recently, and I'm really happy with my purchase. It's not as powerful as some corded options, but for most DIY tasks, it works great. Plus, being cordless means no dealing with cords getting in the way or outlets far from where you're working.
That's good to hear! I'm worried about the battery life since it doesn't come with a battery included. Have any of you used a higher amp-hour battery with this saw?
Yeah, I've been using it with an 8Ah battery and it lasts me through most of my projects without needing a recharge. The motor brake helps to keep the blade spinning when you're making stops or adjustments.
Thanks for all the input! I think I'm sold on the Milwaukee 2530-20, but I have one last question - is there any sort of spindle lock or safety features on this thing?
Yes, it does have a spindle lock which makes it easy to change the blade. As for safety, it has a motor brake and a depth adjuster, so you can control your cuts more precisely.
Perfect! I think I'll go ahead and buy one. Thanks everyone for all the advice!
No problem! Let us know how you like it when it arrives. Good luck with your projects!
