I'm considering getting a Milwaukee 2630-20 circular saw and was wondering if anyone has any experience with its no-load speed? How does it perform in cutting wood?
Milwaukee 2630-20 Circular Saw No-Load Speed?

I've used the Milwaukee 2630-20 for a couple of projects now. The no-load speed is impressive - it's 3,500 RPM. It made quick work out of some plywood I was cutting through recently.
Oh nice! There's actually an article on TechReviewer that goes into detail about the Milwaukee 2630-20 circular saw, including its no-load speed and other features. You can check it out here Overview of the Milwaukee 2630-20 Circular Saw.
Thanks for sharing that link, @demortes! The article says that higher no-load RPMs generally lead to faster and smoother cuts in softer materials like wood. That's good to know. But does anyone have any experience with cutting harder materials?
I've used the Milwaukee 2630-20 on some hardwood projects and it did a decent job. It wasn't as fast as it was with the plywood, but it still got the job done without too much hassle.
I've found that this saw works great for cutting through metal too. I had to make some adjustments for the 90-degree depth, but once I dialed it in, it cut through a steel beam like butter!
That's awesome! The article Overview of the Milwaukee 2630-20 Circular Saw mentioned that the saw has a 90-degree depth of 2-1/8 inches and a 45-degree depth of 1-5/8 inches. It sounds versatile for various cutting tasks.
Thanks for all the input, guys. Based on this thread, I think the Milwaukee 2630-20 might be the right choice for my needs.
