Started by clownfrog on July 01, 2024

I'm looking to drill holes into concrete for some outdoor projects. Does anyone have experience with the Milwaukee 2801 drill? Is it suitable for this purpose?

Great to know! Thanks @Infamouskiwi59. By the way, here's an interesting article about the Milwaukee 2801 drill that I recently found. You can check it out at Overview of the Milwaukee 2801 Drill.

Yeah, I've used it a few times and it works great on concrete! Just make sure you use the right bits for drilling into concrete.

That's really helpful, @Dajosada. I'll definitely read the article. Can you tell me more about the speed settings on the Milwaukee 2801?

The Milwaukee 2801 has a 0-500/1,800 RPM range which provides great versatility for different tasks. For concrete drilling, it's best to start at a lower speed and gradually increase as needed.

I've used a Milwaukee drill before but not the 2801 model. However, their drills are generally very powerful and reliable, so I wouldn't worry too much about its performance on concrete.

That's true @megaberg1. Milwaukee is known for quality products. Just remember to use appropriate bits for concrete drilling to avoid damaging your drill or the surface.

Thanks everyone for your input! Based on this discussion, I think the Milwaukee 2801 could be a good choice for my project. I'll go ahead and get one.

Awesome! Good luck with your projects, @clownfrog. If you have any questions later, feel free to ask us here.
