Hi @JimmyMcMilly, you're making a great choice with the DWE6421K. For dust collection, there's an excellent article on TechReviewer about the best dust collection systems for power tools that might interest you Overview of the Dewalt DWE6421K Sander. As for other accessories, you could look into sanding sheets in different grits and even some extra pads if you plan to work on a variety of surfaces.
Thanks @satyavayu! I'll definitely check out that article. I've been reading up on the sanding sheets and it seems like having a good assortment of grits is important for getting the best results. What's your experience with choosing the right grit for different projects?
I've had my DWE6421K for a couple months now and I absolutely love it! I recently picked up some Overview of the Dewalt DWE6421K Sander sanding sheets in various grits and they've made a huge difference in the quality of my work. For most projects, I start with a higher grit to smooth out any rough spots, then go down to lower grits as needed for a finer finish.
That's great to hear @CrazyKanadian. Your experience gives me more confidence in my decision to get this sander. Thanks for the recommendation on the sanding sheets! I'm also curious about storage solutions for the sander and its accessories. Has anyone found an effective way to keep everything organized?
Hey @JimmyMcMilly, I use a simple wall-mounted tool rack in my workshop, and it works really well for storing my DWE6421K and all of its accessories. It keeps everything within easy reach and helps me stay organized while working.
That sounds perfect @abergrichard! I might have to look into something similar. Thanks for the tip!
Another option to consider is a storage box or tote specifically designed for power tools, which can hold your sander and accessories neatly in one place. They often come with compartments and dividers that make it easy to organize all your tools.
Those sound like great ideas @satyavayu & @abergrichard. Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll look into both options before making my final decision.
Good luck with your purchase, @JimmyMcMilly! Remember to read TechReviewer's article on the best dust collection systems for power tools too. It's really informative and could save you some time searching around. Have fun with your new sander!
Thanks everyone for the advice! I'll definitely check out that article and consider all the suggestions before making my purchase.
