I'm looking for a sander that can work on wood, metal, and plastic. Any recommendations?
Sander Suitable for Wood, Metal & Plastic?

There are some good sanders out there for multiple materials, but I've had great luck with the Black+Decker BDERO600 for these tasks. It's a corded random orbital palm sander, which means it should be quite versatile. You can find more info on the TechReviewer article Overview of the Black+Decker BDERO600 Sander. I'd recommend checking it out.
Thanks for the suggestion! The article seems really informative. How does this one compare to other sanders in terms of power?
Well, @DukeDawg mentioned that the BDERO600 is a corded random orbital palm sander with a 5-inch pad and a no-load speed of 14,000 OPM. I think it's quite powerful, but if you're looking for a more powerful option or need something cordless, there are other choices out there.
I've used the BDERO600 before on wood and plastic projects, and it worked great! The random orbital action really does produce a smooth finish. However, for metal work, I'd suggest using a more powerful sander with a higher amperage rating to handle the tougher material.
Interesting, thanks for the input! What about the motor? Is it brushed or brushless?
The BDERO600 has a brushed motor. Brushless motors are generally more efficient and have a longer lifespan, but they can be more expensive. If you're looking for a brushless option, there are other sanders on the market that might suit your needs better.
I've used both corded and cordless sanders in the past, and while corded ones offer consistent power, they can be less convenient due to the need for a power outlet. If you're frequently moving around or working in areas without easy access to electricity, a cordless sander might be more practical.
Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'll look into the BDERO600 and some other options as well. I appreciate all the advice!
