Saw for Hardwood Flooring Projects?

That's a great question! I've used the Makita XSH04ZB and found it to be quite powerful and versatile. The 6-1/2 inch blade size is perfect for flooring work, and the no-load speed of 5,000 RPM makes quick work of cutting through hardwoods.
@TrickHayes has a good point about the Makita XSH04ZB's performance. I've used it on a couple of projects as well, and I can vouch for its power and flexibility. You can find more details in this TechReviewer article Overview of the Makita XSH04ZB Circular Saw. One thing that stood out to me was its bevel angle range of 0-50 degrees, which makes it suitable for various cutting tasks.
That's really helpful, @TrickHayes and @Inquest25! Thanks for the insights. The Makita XSH04ZB seems like a great option for my hardwood flooring projects. I'm just trying to decide if I should go with a cordless or corded saw.
@pookatron, I've had experience with both cordless and corded saws, and I must say that the Makita XSH04ZB's cordless feature is one of its main selling points. The freedom it provides from having a power source nearby is incredibly useful in various situations. Plus, you won't have to worry about any cords getting tangled or damaged.
That makes sense, @VastHybrid. I'm leaning towards the Makita XSH04ZB now. But one thing that's bothering me is the weight of the saw. It's a bit heavy at 6.4 lbs. Is it manageable for extended periods?
You're right, @pookatron, the Makita XSH04ZB is on the heavier side. However, I found it manageable after using it for a while. The power and precision you get from the saw make up for its weight in my opinion.
Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. This really helps me make an informed decision. I think I'll go ahead with the Makita XSH04ZB for my hardwood flooring projects. Any recommendations on how to maintain the saw and extend its life?
Glad to hear you're considering it, @pookatron! To maintain your Makita XSH04ZB, always keep the blade sharp and clean, store it in a dry place when not in use, and remember to charge the battery regularly if you go with the cordless version. These tips should help keep your saw in top shape for a long time.
Great advice, @Inquest25. Thanks again everyone! I'll be purchasing the Makita XSH04ZB soon and looking forward to using it on my flooring projects.
