Started by joeypasco on June 22, 2024

I've been considering getting a Skil 5080-01 circular saw for some projects I have coming up. Has anyone had any experience with this particular model?

Well, @sumoliang, I was reading an article about the Skil 5080-01 and found some interesting things about it. The TechReviewer article Overview of the Skil 5080-01 Circular Saw gives a great overview of its features and performance. You might find it helpful.

Yeah, I bought one recently and it's been working great! The power is really impressive and the cuts are super clean.

That's good to know. I've used a few Skil tools before and never had any issues. What kind of projects have you been using it for, @sumoliang?

Oh, thanks for sharing that, @Zicro2K16. I appreciate the recommendation. It's always nice to have more information before making a decision.

Yeah, I had no idea about that article! Thanks, @Zicro2K16. I'm really happy with my purchase so far and I think you'll be too if you go for it.

I was just looking at the specifications of the Skil 5080-01 and it looks like it has a pretty versatile range of cutting capabilities. Does anyone have any experience adjusting the depth and bevel settings?

That's a good point, @HyperionGM. I haven't had to adjust them yet but I'm sure they'll come in handy for some projects.

I've actually adjusted the depth setting on my Skil 5080-01 a few times and it was really straightforward. The 90-degree depth is pretty deep, which is great for getting through thicker materials.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @Sampledoubt. That's reassuring to know.

I've been using my Skil 5080-01 for a while now and I'm really enjoying it. It's definitely worth the investment if you're looking for a reliable saw that can handle a variety of tasks.

Glad to hear that, @hyperspeeddoggo. I think I might just go ahead and get one now! Thanks everyone for your input.

No problem, @joeypasco. Good luck with your projects! If you have any questions later on, don't hesitate to ask.
