SKIL 6239-01 Drill Pros & Cons?

Started by tangapormi on June 24, 2024

I'm considering the SKIL 6239-01 drill for some heavy-duty tasks. Can you share your thoughts on this one? It's got a pretty decent chunk size and high amperage.

The drill does have its drawbacks though, as @IgnisDeveloper mentioned earlier, the cord can be a bit of an inconvenience when you're working in tight spaces or with multiple people around. Plus, it's not as portable as a cordless drill. However, I found a great article discussing the SKIL 6239-01 in-depth Overview of the SKIL 6239-01 Drill. The SKIL 6239-01 is great for heavy-duty applications! Its 3/8-inch chuck size is ideal for larger bits, and the 5.5 amps of power make it perfect for drilling through concrete or masonry. I've been using mine for a while now and haven't faced any issues.

Thanks for sharing that link, @OlympianDWill! The power supply is constant, which sounds great for long tasks. But I'm still worried about the cord getting in the way or being a tripping hazard. Any suggestions on how to avoid those issues?

That's a valid concern, @tangapormi. One thing you could try is using clips or ties to secure the power cord out of the way while working. Also, always be aware of the cord's position when moving around your work area.

I haven't used this specific model, but I've had good experiences with SKIL products in general. The customer support has been helpful and responsive whenever I needed assistance or advice.

That's good to know, @michaelnabil! So, overall, the SKIL 6239-01 seems like a solid choice for heavy-duty tasks, but it does come with some downsides like the corded issue. Thanks everyone for the input!
