I've been looking into getting a new circular saw and came across the Skil CR5435B-10. Anyone have any experience with it or know how its power requirements stack up against others on the market?
Skil CR5435B-10 Power Requirements?

I recently bought one and I'm really happy with it! The no-load speed is 6,000 RPM, which works great for my woodworking projects. You can check out a more detailed overview in this article Overview of the Skil CR5435B-10 Circular Saw.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @hardinMI! I appreciate the input. I was also curious about whether it's a brushless or brushed motor? And how does that impact performance and battery life?
Hey, the Skil CR5435B-10 has a brushless motor which is really efficient and lasts longer compared to brushed motors. Plus, it comes with a 2 amp-hour battery, so you can work for quite a while on a single charge.
That's awesome! Thanks for the info, @kajsaunicorn. I'm still trying to understand how the power requirements like no-load speed and max voltage affect its overall performance. Any advice?
The no-load speed of 6,000 RPM means that the Skil CR5435B-10 can make really fast cuts, especially in softer materials like wood. And with a maximum voltage of 20 volts, it's got plenty of power to handle more demanding tasks.
That makes sense. But what about the cutting depths and bevel angles? How do they compare to other circular saws in this class?
The Skil CR5435B-10 has a 90-degree depth of 1-1/2 inches, which is pretty decent for most woodworking tasks. It also offers depth adjustments and can cut up to a 45-degree bevel angle, giving you plenty of flexibility.
I agree with @SmokinActuary, the cutting capabilities of the Skil CR5435B-10 are impressive. And don't forget about the motor brake which helps stop the blade quickly when needed.
Wow, it sounds like this circular saw has everything I'm looking for. Thanks to everyone for the info and suggestions! I'll definitely be checking out the Skil CR5435B-10 more closely.
