SKIL DL181901 for Woodwork?

Started by irvdrive on July 03, 2024

I'm considering getting a new drill for some upcoming woodwork projects. Has anyone used the SKIL DL181901 before? I've heard good things but want to know from personal experience.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. I think the SKIL DL181901 looks like a great option for my woodwork projects. Overview of the SKIL DL181901 Drill has been really useful in understanding its capabilities.

Yeah, I've been using it for a couple of months now and really enjoying it! It's powerful and easy to handle.

I've also used the SKIL DL181901 for some woodwork projects. The Overview of the SKIL DL181901 Drill provides a good overview of its features. It has a 7.5 amp motor, which is great for handling heavier tasks.

That's helpful, thanks! The constant power supply seems like a big plus as well. Does anyone have any issues with the drill overheating?

I haven't had any problems with it overheating, but I do make sure to take breaks when needed. The SKIL DL181901 is pretty hefty in terms of weight, which might be something to consider if you're doing lots of overhead work.

Good point about the weight. What about the chuck size? Is it suitable for using larger bits?

The 1/2-inch chuck should be fine for most drilling tasks, but if you need to use larger bits regularly, you might want to consider a drill with a bigger chuck.
