I'm looking to get a circular saw and was wondering if the Skil SPT70V-11 would be good for cutting hardwood? Has anyone had experience with it?

That's true, the larger blade size can be really useful. But like @feeseize said, you might need something more powerful for certain tasks. I found that article Overview of the Skil SPT70V-11 Circular Saw quite informative for understanding its capabilities in detail.

Yeah, I've used one before. It worked pretty well on hardwood, but you might want to check out this article Overview of the Skil SPT70V-11 Circular Saw for an overview of its performance.

The Skil SPT70V-11 does a decent job with hardwood, but it may struggle compared to models with higher amperage or brushless motors. I've found that the 15 amp motor is okay for most tasks, but you might need something more powerful for denser materials.

Thanks for your input! So would you say it's still worth getting for general woodworking tasks like cutting hardwood?

I have the Skil SPT70V-11 and I use it mainly for cutting hardwood. It gets the job done, but I do sometimes struggle with more difficult cuts. For me, the 16-5/16 inch blade size is helpful, but I wish it had a bit more power.
