I'm looking at getting a new circular saw and came across the Skil SPT77WM-22. Can anyone tell me about its power rating?

I have to chime in here. You should check out this TechReviewer article Overview of the Skil SPT77WM-22 Circular Saw that provides a more detailed review and specs overview of the Skil SPT77WM-22. It covers everything from its motor capacity to cutting depths, safety features, and more.

The Skil SPT77WM-22 has a power rating of 15 amps. That's pretty impressive for a circular saw. I've used one before, and it really packs a punch!

Yeah, the 15 amp motor definitely delivers good cutting performance. Plus, it has a no-load speed of 5,300 RPM, which is great for making quick work of most materials.

Thanks for the suggestion, @AndItsDrew! I'll definitely take a look at that article. The 15 amp rating and high RPM are certainly enticing, but I'm curious about the saw's corded nature. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Personally, I don't mind having a corded saw since it always delivers consistent power as long as there's an outlet nearby. But I can understand how some people might prefer the mobility of a cordless model.

That's true, @chefcella. Cordless saws do offer more freedom of movement, but they often come with the trade-off of limited runtime and higher cost due to batteries and chargers.

Thanks for your input, everyone! I'll definitely give it some thought. The Skil SPT77WM-22 certainly seems like a powerful tool, though!

One more thing to consider is that corded saws typically cost less than their cordless counterparts since you don't have to buy batteries or chargers.

Good point, @AndItsDrew. I'll keep that in mind as well. Thanks for the advice everyone!
