Skil SR6607B-10 Sander: Indoor & Outdoor Use?
Started by multicellular1 on June 30, 2024
I've used it indoors for some woodworking, and it works great! The cordless feature is really convenient. But I haven't tried using it outdoors yet.
I use it both indoors and outdoors all the time. It's perfect for getting into tight spaces whether you're painting a small corner or trimming plants!
It's also good to know that it can handle dust collection effectively, which is important when working with wood or dirt.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I'm leaning more towards getting one now. Also, how's the battery life on this thing? I wouldn't want to be caught without power in the middle of a project.
The battery life is pretty decent. It's not the longest-lasting out there, but it should be enough for most projects. Just make sure to have a spare battery charged if you're working on something big.
I agree with @OmarL1ttle. Battery life is good, but having a backup battery is always a smart idea. And it charges pretty fast too!
Yeah, I would recommend getting an extra battery if you plan on doing long projects or using it outdoors where you might not have easy access to charging.
Thanks again for the advice! I think I'll go ahead and get one. By the way, does anyone know if there's a specific type of sandpaper that works best with this sander?
According to the TechReviewer article Overview of the Skil SR6607B-10 Sander, the Skil SR6607B-10 is designed for precision tasks where detailed work is needed. So, it would be best suited for finer grit sandpapers. You might want to try out different grits to see which one works best for your specific project.
That's helpful! Thanks, @triple-t-type. I'll definitely experiment with some different grits and get a backup battery. Looking forward to trying it out!
