Using Different Batteries With This Drill?

Started by gazbaz12 on June 24, 2024

I'm considering getting the Black+Decker BDCI20 drill. Can anyone share their experiences with it? I've heard mixed things.

That's a good idea, @gazbaz12. The article Overview of the Black+Decker BDCI20 Drill really does go into detail about the different battery options and their performance.

It's great! I have one and it works really well for me. The power is good and the battery life is decent too.

Yeah, I use mine all the time at work. It can be a bit slow on some jobs, but overall, it's reliable.

I got one recently, but I'm not sure if I made the right choice. The drill seems powerful, but the battery life isn't that great for me.

You should check out this TechReviewer article Overview of the Black+Decker BDCI20 Drill which discusses the different battery options available for the BDCI20. It might help you make a more informed decision.

Thanks for sharing that link, @daastheboss! I'll definitely read up on it before making my purchase.

Yeah, I'm going to check that out too. It might help me understand why I'm having issues with battery life.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't realize there were so many options for batteries. I'll have to look into it as well.

So, what kind of work are you guys using the BDCI20 drill for? I'm curious if it's suitable for heavier tasks.

I've used it for drilling holes and driving screws in woodworking projects around the house. It does fine for those tasks, but as @no-love-lost said, it can be slow on some jobs.

Same here, mostly light-duty stuff like installing shelves and putting up pictures. Haven't tried anything too heavy yet.

Yeah, I use it mostly for drilling holes in walls and concrete. It's not the best for that, but it gets the job done.

Thanks for the input! I guess if I'm doing light-duty tasks around the house, this drill might be a good choice. But if I need something more powerful for heavier work, I'll have to look into other options.
