Wen 4017 Best Model for Beginners?

Started by weltesser on July 03, 2024

I'm new to chainsaws and need some advice. Is the WEN 4017 a good choice for a beginner? Any suggestions?

The Wen 4017 is actually quite user-friendly, so it could be a great option for beginners. Here's a link to a TechReviewer article that discusses its features in detail: Overview of the Wen 4017 Chainsaw

Solution

That's good to know! I've been looking into electric chainsaws because they seem less maintenance and quieter than gas ones.

Yeah, electric chainsaws are definitely easier to maintain and quieter. But remember, it's still important to wear safety gear when using any type of chainsaw!

I'm a beginner myself and just started using the Wen 4017. It has been working great for me so far! The chain brake is a nice feature too.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @jacobejacke. That chain brake sounds pretty important for safety. What other features have you found helpful?

The tool-free chain tensioning is also really convenient. It makes it easy to adjust the chain without any tools needed.

Nice! I think electric chainsaws are generally more beginner-friendly because of their lower maintenance and less noise. But I'd still recommend doing some research on different models, as features can vary quite a bit.

Good advice, @blackfyre89. I'll keep that in mind while I do my research. Thanks everyone for the info!

You're welcome, @lunagrey22. If you have any more questions or need help, feel free to ask! Good luck with your chainsaw shopping!
